Navigating Real Estate with Steven Gragg, Broker of Keller Williams Legacy

In this episode of Feral and Fabulous, we had the pleasure of sitting down with Steven Gragg from Keller Williams Legacy. With over 40 years in the real estate business, Steven has seen significant changes in the industry, and his insights into its evolution are both enlightening and invaluable.

Getting Into Real Estate: A Journey from Family Roots

Steven shares a captivating story about his early beginnings in real estate. Growing up with a father who was a home builder, it seemed almost inevitable that he would follow in his family’s footsteps. After briefly considering multiple career paths, Steven decided to get his real estate license in August of 1982. An interesting family history unveiled itself later – his great-grandfather was issued the second real estate license ever in Texas, emphasizing a legacy deeply rooted in real estate.

Changes in the Real Estate Industry

During our discussion, Steven reminisced about the days before the internet, when personal interaction was paramount. Offers were presented directly and face-to-face, offering a level of personal touch that Steven feels is sometimes missing in today’s fast-paced, digital world. However, the core of real estate, the importance of personal relationships, remains unchanged, a sentiment we’re inclined to agree with wholeheartedly.

The Path to Keller Williams Legacy

Steven elaborated on his career trajectory and how he came to join Keller Williams. In the late ’90s, drawn by the company’s innovative capping model, Steven and a group of colleagues decided to launch their own office – Keller Williams Legacy. The model allowed agents the benefit of capping their earning, a novel concept at the time that suited their vision perfectly.

Evolving with Technology and Market Trends

Steven touched on recent changes in the industry, including the ever-evolving role of technology in real estate and how lawsuits have influenced procedural protocols. Yet even with these advancements, maintaining integrity and personal rapport with clients remains at the heart of Steven’s practice.

Life Outside of Real Estate

Aside from his prolific career, Steven enjoys spending time at his property, indulging in gardening and enjoying the tranquility of his land. His commitment to community extends to his family life, including keeping up with his sons’ careers – a traveling nurse and a budding entertainment producer.
